The 10-day celebration is the first and largest summer event on the Island. A celebration that blends the Island’s historic varieties of lilacs – many of which were brought here during the Colonial era; distinctive equestrian culture; fine food and drink. Plus a range of other activities, the festival is one of the Island’s biggest attractions.
Festival features days of activities and ends with one of the largest festival parades in Michigan. The lilac parade will be held on Sunday, June 15th, 2025 at 4:00pm.
See over 100 different species of lilacs throughout the splendor of Mackinac Island. A day on Mackinac Island during the Lilac Festival is the perfect Spring getaway.

Storytellers weave spooky folktales near bonfires and treats such as hot mulled cider, cookies and candy can be found throughout the site. Most stops are suitable for all ages, but a haunted house, demon walk and werewolf walk will give thrills and chills to adults and children alike.
